must be original, no reproductions, no class or workshop work. Limit of three entries per artist.
There will be only two categories for artists and no categories for media. The two categories are: Professional
and Non-Professional. Professional:
Professionals are those artists who make their living either through the selling of their art or by teaching regular
art classes or who may be signature members of art societies.
Professionals will be designated as such on their wall tag, perhaps with a different color or a colored sticker or
with Professional written on it. If the number of professional entries is small enough, a special section of the
gallery may be designated to give them more prominence. Non-Professional:
Non-professionals may or may not have won monetary awards in shows and may or may not have sold their
artwork. They may or may not have taught an occasional workshop and/or judged or performed a demonstration
for an art group. They have not earned substantial enough fees to support themselves through their art. Awards:
Cash awards will be given in both categories as follows: $250 for First Place, $200 for Second Place, and
$150 for Third Place. In addition, there will be three Honorable Mention Ribbons awarded. The artists are also
eligible for $100 Show Sponsor prizes and $100 Popular Choice award.
In categories with too few entries, the number of awards may be limited at the discretion of the judge.
A color photo of the winning pieces will be featured on the cover of the show program, on the website and in
publicity for the next show held by FAA. All prize winners will be featured in a special 2-month exhibit in the
Community Room of the library following the FAA show. Sitting:
All FAA member entrants will be required to sit at least one session for the Show or get a substitute. However,
Show Chairs and Team Leaders are exempt from sitting. Non-FAA entrants may sit at their discretion.
